On Sunday 16th November, St Andrews International School Bangkok proudly hosted its 11th STAMUN conference, bringing together over 130 student delegates from schools across Bangkok and beyond for a full day of enthusiastic debate, collaboration, and global-minded leadership on this year’s theme; “Navigating Global Crises Through Cooperation and Protection”.

The opening ceremony led by Parliamentarians Gracie, Ayush and Gaurish set a reflective and inspiring tone. Delegates joined in a moment of national respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen mother before being welcomed into a conference themed around collaboration and global responsibility. Our Secretaries-General, Sanyam and Sarina, delivered a powerful address on student leadership, while a message from civil rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Amanda Nguyen reminded delegates of the power of individual action in shaping a more just world.

Across five committees including DISEC, WHO, UNHRC, UNESCO and UNEP, students engaged in hours of debate, drafting resolutions, raising points of information, navigating crises, and demonstrating the confidence and diplomacy that MUN aims to foster. The chairs managed their committees professionally and ensured that even our newest delegates felt supported and empowered.

The closing ceremony highlighted the day’s energy, humour, and intellectual challenge, from “pirates invading STAMUN XI” to delegates delivering impressively sharp POIs. Awards celebrated excellence in research, policy writing, and debate, with the Best Overall Delegate awarded to the Delegate of China from the WHO committee.

As the conference was officially closed, one message resonated strongly: every participant contributed to an atmosphere of learning, courage, and international-mindedness. STAMUN XI was not only a success, it was a testament to what young people can achieve when they step forward to lead.
