Staff Profiles: Mr Gregory

Greg KS1

Learning Support Teacher

My formal qualifications include a bachelor of science degree from the University of Birmingham and a teaching qualification from the University of East Anglia. I also hold a Masters degree in Education, Policy and Society from Kings College London (KCL) and a Masters degree in Psychology of Education from University College London (UCL).

In 2018 I completed the UK’s National Award for SEN Coordination. Since qualifying to be a teacher in 2013, I have taught exclusively in London. Initially starting as a classroom teacher in an inner city primary school, I then led the subject of Philosophy for Children (P4C) and took up the post of SENCo in 2017.

My last role before moving to St.Andrews International was as the Assistant Head for Inclusion at a school in Kings Cross. In this role I worked closely with psychologists, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists to support the various educational needs of the children within the school.

I value every child as unique and enjoy working with them to find their individual motivations, passions and learning styles. The pupils that I teach often appreciate my humour. I often form strong bonds with my pupils, because learning is about forming positive attitudes and perspectives towards learning as well as achieving curriculum goals! My main interests are in travelling, developing new skills and running.

I’d like to learn Thai, visit the neighbouring countries and enjoy the city of Bangkok in my spare time. At the weekends I’d like to take trips around Thailand and see as much of the country as I can.

Working at St.Andrews is a unique and exciting experience for me. St. Andrews has lots of highly experienced and skilled individuals, all working towards the same goals.

Coming from smaller schools in the heart of London, this move allows me to work with children from different backgrounds and on different learning journeys. I am looking forward to the challenges and new experiences that await me.
