I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan and took further studies obtaining a Diploma in Special Education from Southwestern University. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Special Education also at SWU. After graduating from university, I worked as a Psychometrician at the Philippine Mental Health Association and got the opportunity to facilitate and interpret batteries of psychological tests for case management and employment requirements for several industries in my hometown, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines.
My training in psychological testing also got me the opportunity to work in the Human Resource Department. After years in personnel administration, I decided to shift my career path to become a teacher back in the Philippines. It was a dream come true to be able to work with children in their early years, specially those with challenges at a Montessori School. In the late 2000s I was visiting my brother who was working here in Thailand and this proved to be the start of a great journey working as a Special Needs teacher here in Bangkok. I worked as a Learning Support Assistant at the Early Learning Centre (ELC) International School from 2009 which catered to the inclusion of children with challenges, giving me the chance to broaden my skills in handling different learning needs of children with challenges.
I am very glad and honoured to have joined St Andrews International School Bangkok and to be a part of this great institution that caters to the different needs of the children and giving them a place and identity in society. I hope to be able to impart my knowledge and skills in the promotion of a better education among students with challenges.
