Dear Parents,

As you probably know, the Governor of North Carolina has extended his executive order to close public schools for the rest of this school year. However, that relates to the end date set by North Carolina public schools, which are due to close on June 9th.  As you know, BISC’s school year continues through to the end of June.

The Governor has not yet made a ruling on summer schools. If restrictions are lifted and if it is safe to do so, we hope to open school in some capacity for the remainder of June, if only to have Graduation and End-of-Year celebrations. At this moment, we are also still planning on running Adventure Camps for Early Years and will be monitoring state-wide health and safety advice very closely.

Our school campus is currently open for access to the Library and to collect resources every Thursday and Friday – by appointment only – and will continue until we return. This worked extremely well last week with most sessions fully booked. If you would like to book a time in the Library, please click this link:  Library sign up

Despite our hope that we can return to campus, it is important to remember that we are all at home and taking precautions to save lives and to keep ourselves and others safe. If our school is able to re-open, we would obviously need to put in place a range of safety procedures.

Until we know more, we will continue with the Nord Anglia Virtual School Experience that our teachers are expertly delivering to your children. I also want to thank all of you who took part in our Friday Fun Day activities. We have collated your photos to share with the BISC community, which may be viewed here

This week’s Friday Fun Day theme is “The Great BISC Bake Off”. You will receive instructions on how to enter later this week, but it is safe to say it will involve some form of baking…

Until Next Time,

Principal Adam Stevens
