Recognition of qualifications

As an international school it is important that our school curriculum offer your child an education that would enable them to study at other schools around the world. We achieve a transferable education for your child by combining the English curriculum with the International Primary and Middle Years Curriculum and our own unique international outlook.

• The International Primary Curriculum is used by 1,600 schools in 92 countries.
• The English National Curriculum is respected and used by schools around the world. It is widely recognized for providing the structure to advance a child's reading, writing and mathematics skills at an earlier age than many other curricula. In some cases they may be reading and writing years before other children of their own age. 
• The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the GCSE are known around the world and accepted as an entry qualification to further studies, including into the upper years of high schools.
• In the future we shall introduce the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma for 16-18 year olds. British International School of Charlotte is a Candidate School for the Diploma Program.  This means our school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy and one that BISC believes is transformative to our students- a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education. The IB Diploma is highly regarded by all of the world's leading colleges and universities with IB Diploma graduates gaining entry into Ivy League colleges and other global top 100 universities.
