We have been incredibly lucky to have visitors from the Julliard School this week! Some students got the opportunity to watch and hear a performance in class time from a cellist called Clare. We loved listening to her perform and talk about the music that she played.

This week the children in Year 3 have been very excited as they have begun to get themselves prepared for the upcoming Science Fair, which will be held on Monday June 8th.  This year the Year 3 children are going to investigate the effects of sugar on rock crystal growth and this week the children have been carrying out investigations around the science of rock candy!  When making rock candy this week, the children were able to learn to recognize the differences between a mixture and a solution.  The children also learned to  make a super saturated solution and are now waiting for the water to evaporate in order to see the sugar crystals forming.  All the children in Key Stage 2 are very excited to begin their Science Fair Projects and further details including guidelines and frequently asked questions will be posted on Engage on Thursday 2nd April.

The past week has seen exciting things from the MFL team. Year 5 have been creating French dream catchers to explore their future dreams and wishes using different tenses. Year 1 children have been talking about feelings using the verb avoir - "to have," which they also used to talk about their age. We have also been learning how to construct negative sentences!

This week in dance class during our tap dance lessons we talked about our favorite tap dance steps that we know. Steffen showed us a shuffle ball change!
