At Village, students pursue excellence in all they do, even extending into their extracurriculars and hobbies. For 8th grader Charlie, his combined artistry and love for baking has him creating masterpieces almost too exquisite to eat! Many different Village Vikings have gotten to enjoy his delicious creations and he’s always glad for the chance to share. We got to connect with this ambitious and eloquent baker, and hear all about his unique gift turned small business.

A senior at The Village School, Anastacia Y. already has a fully-functioning business to her name. She is the founder and owner of Elcove, an environmentally conscious company that provides a variety of cleaning product capsules and reusable bottles. Elcove’s toxin-free products aim to replace the single-use plastic bottles often found in grocery store cleaning aisles.

Today is the final day of the current academic year, and so we are now looking ahead and will be planning throughout the summer. With this being an unprecedented year, I am sure that your family has questions about the re-opening of the school.

Congratulations to senior, Divyesh Khatri, who has been named one of 621 semifinalists in the 2020 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The semifinalists were selected from nearly 5,600 candidates expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2020.

The building blocks of every nation are the young minds that need shaping so that they can strive for a better future. Bringing in the expertise required, exploring countless options, enriching themselves with ideas and implementing them, are all part of a student’s life. There are very few institutions that are creating a space that exposes young students to new horizons and motivates them to go beyond.

As we near the end of 1 month of staying home, our Vikings from every division are sharing encouraging messages and tips on how to continue staying safe and protecting our families and community.

On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, three Village students spoke to a professional gathering of over 400 people about their experience with entrepreneurship in the Conrad Challenge.

On Thursday, January 23rd and Friday, January 24th, VHSMUN attended the Houston Area MUN with over 1100 delegates from Houston and across Texas.

The Village School had 43 art recognitions between the middle and high school who won either a Gold Key, Silver Key, or Honorable Mention in the 2019-2020 Scholastic Art Competition!

We are very proud to share the results of our Seniors at the British International School of Chicago, South Loop. Our students achieved exceptional results in this year’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

Rising senior Puneetha G. was recently invited to speak at the MD Anderson Texas Educators Summit on teen tobacco use and cessation programs. This issue is one that Puneetha has been passionately working to resolve.

Recently, Village Vikings Olivia B., Omar I., Divyesh K. and Roberto M. competed in the Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge which is a science and business competition founded in honor of astronaut Pete Conrad.
