A warm welcome to all our new and returning students and their families in this new school year! It is with great delight that we welcome some new teachers to our Senior School Team.

A warm welcome to all our new and returning students and their families in this new school year! It is with great delight that we welcome some new teachers to our Senior School Team: Mr Sharma (Head of Maths), Mr Gale (Maths and Computing), Mr Geary (History), Mr Bevis (Chemistry), Mrs Lungley (Intensive EAL), Mr Senday-Alfaro (Intensive EAL) and Señora Martinez (Spanish). We are all looking forward to a great year ahead. The school year has got off to a celebratory start … whilst the students who took  A-level and IGCSE results opened their envelopes with nervous excitement, they need not have worried! There were many many successes to celebrate, the outcome of diligence on the part of the students and great preparation and guidance from the teachers.

Jackson Kang, Year 12

Special congratulations to Jackson who is now studying A levels in Year 12; he made history in BSN by becoming the youngest student to take examinations in A level Maths in addition to his IGCSE subjects and achieve A* grades!

Congratulations are due to all of our students who excelled for so many different reasons: they took exams in Year 9 or 10, or they exceeded all expectations set for them.

Particular mention to all of the students who took IGCSE Art where the final art pieces were truly outstanding and place BSN as having the highest grades in Art across the Nord Anglia group in China and IGCSE Mandarin where every student was awarded A*. We pride ourselves on the high academic standards we set for our students and we are delighted that the students rose to the challenges set before them.

We are thrilled to be delivering our new Intensive EAL course to students in Years 6 – 9; it has gotten off to a flying start. The focus of the programme is to build academic vocabulary, reading and comprehension skills so that these students, who are often new to BSN, can join our mainstream classes, and excel in them, just as soon as they are ready. I consider it to be an honour to be able to work with these learners and already I see increasing confidence and competence in their ability to explain their ideas.

Looking forward to another succesful academic year!
