Students show racism the RED CARD!

Students and staff at The British School of Nanjing are standing up to discrimination and showing racism the red card!

Throughout the week, they have taken part in activities that help youth speak up and show their personal commitment to calling out racism when they hear it, read it or see it happen.

From signing a pledge to stand up for every person's right to be treated with respect, to making a bold statement by wearing red to loudly state, “I’m against all formations of discrimination”, students and staff have made their voices clear that discrimination on the basis of race, LGBTQ, Women’s inequality or any forms of discrimination that targets other ethnic groups has no place in our world.

To make it clear that this commitment is across our whole community, our students, staff and even the mascot of our own Sports Team, The BSN Foxes, chose to put their faces and words out there for all to see with a series of nearly 40 posters, inspired by the Show Racism the Red Card Campaign, that will be on display throughout the school this week and beyond.

We must not remain silent - every voice matters when we want to demonstrate kindness, acceptance, speaking up for every person's right to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of who they are!
