Matthew Jones

Head of Primary

Bachelor of Arts - Classical Civilisation and Philosophy (University of Nottingham)

PGCE - University of Nottingham

I am originally from Devon in England but, when I travelled to China in 2003, I knew instantly that I had found my second home. I lived in China for a decade and, in 2007, I became one of the founding teaching staff members at the British School of Nanjing.

In 2013, I returned to the UK with my family and worked as a Key Stage Leader and Specialist Leader in Education for the Solihull Local Authority. Throughout my career I have passionately believed in providing all children with opportunities to challenge themselves and take pride in their individual and collective achievements on a daily basis.

I enjoy a range of sports, especially football, and follow the ups and (more frequent) downs of Plymouth Argyle. Above all, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially when discovering new places with my wife and young children.
