Mr Penney achieved a first-class honours degree in Primary Teaching from Kingston University London and has since achieved a masters degree in Professional Studies in Education, as well as several qualifications in middle and senior leadership. Mr Penney began his teaching career at Danes Hill School, Surrey, UK before moving to Dubai British School, UAE. He has taught a range of ages across KS1 and KS2 and was previously appointed as a Key Stage Leader, following positions of curriculum leadership for mathematics and science. Before joining NAIS, his most recent post was as an Assistant Headteacher here in Hong Kong, leading teaching and learning. He is now excited to join Nord Anglia as part of the Primary teaching team.
Mr Penney believes in the education of the ‘whole-child’ and has always aimed to develop active and creative minds through a dynamic approach. His aim in the classroom is to create exciting opportunities that enhance the development of learning skills and values, promote critical thinking and ultimately prepare his students for a successful life as a global citizen.
Outside of school Mr Penney enjoys a wide range of hobbies which include many sports such as football, tennis and golf, as well as enjoying the great outdoors through hiking, camping, cycling and snowboarding. He has a passion for traveling and experiencing world cultures and spends many weekends exploring the beautiful landscapes of Hong Kong.
