The British International School of Houston seeks to appoint a part time School Therapist to support students, families and colleagues across our school. We are a Pre-K through Grade 12 private international school in Katy, Texas. We are looking to add a well-qualified and experienced professional to our Student Support Services Team to further expand the services provided to our students and families.
An in-depth understanding of, and experience working with, child/adolescent development, social, emotional and behavioral issues, mental health and experience counselling children of a range of ages is essential. This role will involve being a member of a school wide team, with part of this role focusing on collaboration with colleagues and facilitating professional learning opportunities across the school. With proven organizational and personnel skills and a love for working with children, you will be an excellent communicator who gets on well with colleagues, students and parents within an international and multi-cultural setting.
In fulfilling the requirements of the post, the successful candidate will demonstrate essential professional characteristics, and in particular will:
- Work as part of our teaching team to provide additional support for our school community;
- Contribute to building a positive school culture;
- Engage with colleagues, parents and students in a welcoming and professional manner;
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills;
- Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school in line with the school’s strategic plan.
