Celebrating MS | HS Cross Country Success

MS | HS Cross Country Meet hosted by St. Thomas Episcopal | Saturday 29th September 2018.

Congratulations to our athletes on the cross-country team at the weekend.  The conditions were extremely wet and muddy and despite the poor conditions all were determined to race. The course was not flat, and the muddy pathways caused runners to slide back at times – even with these obstacles, the times our runners demonstrated great resilience.

To achieve these times and places, our athletes are training very hard. They have each been given a plan where they train 6 days a week. Some of these athletes also run outside of school and train twice a day on some days. They are very supportive of each other and celebrate each other’s achievements as well as push each other during training and races. The determination and focus can easily be seen on their faces when they race. They follow the race plans but have the maturity to adapt them when needed. A huge shout out for Mr Ramey, Mr Jones and Athletic Director Harris who give their time and support to helping to give our students the opportunities to achieve.

This Saturday (6th October) we have a meet at Faith West Hills. We will have the largest number of athletes running we have ever entered (37), spanning from Years 5-11. The race timetable is included below and there is also an open 5k at 12:00 that teachers and parents can also sign up for. If you are able to come along we would really appreciate your support – it also means you can get a cheeky 5k in!
