The Texas Age Group Swimming Championships are coming to end for Year 9 Bryn but she has her sights set on demonstrating her resilience to take her to the Olympics!
Next week our Year 9 student Bryn will make her final performance for the short course season at Texas Age Group Swimming Championships - the highest level of swimming one can achieve in Texas as an age group swimmer. Bryn will be swimming in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle, multiple relay events and is very well seeded in the 50 yard freestyle to take the podium.
In April, long course season will begin and as Bryn turns 15 she will be promoted to the next level of training and has been selected to train in the performance development program focusing on Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska next year. The programme is extremely intense with an expectation of 100% attendance of 10 practices a week. There will also be 3 required altitude training camps that last 21-22 days each with the first camp being held in Flagstaff, Arizona.
This is a phenomenal achievement and we wish Bryn success and good wishes as she makes waves towards the Olympic trials, there is no limit to what she will achieve!
