Amanda Martin

High School Learning Support Teacher

I loved the ethos and general feel of BIS Houston so much, I decided to apply for a job here. I started working at BISH in 2020 as a High School Learning Support Teacher and I adore my job and the students I get to work with every day even more than I'd anticipated! Prior to this I worked in a number of Primary and High schools in Western Australia as both a teacher and deputy principal, gaining nearly 20 years of experience in a range of educational settings. I am a proud neurodiversity-inspired educator with a deep respect for each child's unique brain and seek to create the best individualized learning environment from which it can thrive.

I joined the BIS Houston community as a parent when I arrived from Perth, Australia in 2019 with my three children Chloe, James and Sylvie and my husband Brad. When I'm not at school I enjoy socializing with my friends, relaxing with my family, playing with our mini-aussie Frankie and traveling.
