Laura Pennesi

Laura Pennesi at the British International School of Houston

EAL Teacher

I have worked as an EFL teacher for 7 years in Italy, teaching adults, children and teenagers. When my husband and I moved to The Hague (NL) in 2008 I discovered the wonderful world of international schools and I worked as a teacher assistant in Reception for two years. After that I worked as an Early Years teacher in South Korea for almost three years. I moved with my family to Houston in November 2019 and I have just joined BIS Houston. I'm very excited to be part of the EAL team and teach English to non-native speakers.

I consider myself a chronic nomad, as I have lived in 4 continents and visited many countries for work and leisure. When I'm not working, I love travelling with my husband and two children. I love going to museums, reading, painting, going for walks, swimming and playing tennis.
