Andrew Winder

Assistant Head of Primary

This year will be my 24th year in education.  During this period, I have been fortunate to have worked across the spectrum of age ranges, Pre-Nursery to Middle school, on four continents in seven countries.

My first post was in BIS Jakarta as a 26 year old, where I met my wife Jenny. From there, I worked in The Grange Chile, St Christophers Bahrain, Harrow Bangkok, NCBIS Cairo and now Panaga School Borneo.

Each school has been a tremendous learning opportunity both professionally and personally. I have particularly enjoyed the challenges of leading through a number of IPC and CIS Accreditations, working with diverse middle management teams and managing educational change and innovation within these schools.

Personal highlights would include, qualifying as a BISAC and PADi instructor, my first international day, having monkeys wander through the playground, and the friends I have made now scattered across the international school world.

After nearly eight years in Borneo, I am now looking forward to a different pace of life in Houston. But will surely miss watching the hornbills at sunset from our beach house.
