Early Years Lead Teacher
I have been teaching for fourteen years and have had the opportunity to support children from nursery to year 6 in different capacities. Most of my teaching career has been devoted to working with early years children as well as leading EY and MP1 departments. I have been very fortunate to work closely with parents and the wider community. When the opportunity came to work at BISHouston I couldn't wait to be part of school that shared the same vision and philosophies. Since being part of our fabulous school I have led parent groups and workshops to provide support and care for our EY parents. It is always a pleasure to get to know our wonderful parents and children every year. Leading our EY team and striving to give our children, parents and colleagues a fantastic learning experience in early years is my passion!

Early Years Teacher
I began my career in Early Years over twenty years ago in a small nursery in Cheshire. After competing my teaching degree I worked in one of our Nord Anglia schools in Doha and loved the diverse backgrounds of the children I had the pleasure to teach. When the opportunity arose for me to come to Houston I jumped at the chance and have not been disappointed.
Following my graduation from Glasgow Caledonian University with a degree in psychology, I worked for the civil service and then in youth services in Glasgow helping young people access sports and recreation in vulnerable communities. Encouraged by a supportive boss I applied to do my post graduate teaching diploma at Strathclyde University and completed it in 2006. I worked in primary schools and private early years settings in Scotland for six years. Then early in 2012, a relative in Houston told me they had been reading about the British school and it sparked my interest. I heard that the school was originally for British students transitioning in and out of Houston, but that it was developing into a truly unique school that catered for international and local families alike. Almost ten years on and I have been privileged to be a part of that change, move to an exceptional new building and even teach multiple members of the same families.
