I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with Early Years children for the last ten years in a variety of different locations and countries. I first began teaching in my home town in Northern California and after I finished my degree in Child Development I took an internship teaching in Germany.
The joy of working internationally kept me focused and moving around from China to the Middle East. I feel very fortunate to have had the exposure to so many languages, cultural experiences and learning opportunities. Working with Early Years children I feel is the most exciting age group because they are constantly inquiring and are so enthusiastic about learning. When deciding to move on from working in the Middle East I knew that I wanted to find a school that valued the child, would be professionally exciting and challenging and was internationally minded. I was very excited to find the British International School of Houston encompassed all that I had been searching for and more. This has been a wonderful opportunity and was thrilled to take the position as an Early Years teacher.
Growing up in California I spent a lot of time outdoors and have a real appreciation for nature. When outside of the classroom I enjoy traveling to different places, hiking and swimming. One of my favorite trips I recently took was when I traveled to Peru and hiked Machu Picchu!
