After volunteering and teaching English in schools and orphanages in South America during my summer holidays, I became increasingly interested in international education. This eventually led to my decision to move to the British International School of Washington in DC. I was wowed by Nord Anglia’s ‘Global Classroom’ and the international perspective that runs through our schools as it gives pupils a wealth of knowledge and experiences to learn from.

Teaching is my passion.  I am a very enthusiastic and creative teacher who strives to accelerate children’s learning.  Teaching for me is a privilege, where I can make a difference to the lives of the children in my class and contribute positively to the school community.  I constantly seek to achieve the best from my children, however big or small that achievement, and celebrate their success inclusively with their parents/carers.  I have developed my career as an EYFS and Key Stage 1 teacher in a very diverse Inner City school in London.  During this time I was the Literacy and Early Years Leader, which gave me the opportunity to implement several creative and structured schemes which significantly improved results in reading and writing across the school.

After completing Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, I completed my degree in education and started working as a teacher in India. For four years, I worked as a full time science teacher in an elementary school in Madurai, India. I enjoyed working with children to achieve their potential and working together with parents. I later started a small private school in Chennai for three years before moving to Singapore. Since 2015, I have volunteered as a teacher to teach Tamil to young children in Bharathi Kalai Mandram, Houston.
