I spent a very happy 18 years as a learning support assistant, working with children of all ages and a wide variety of needs in a primary school in the UK. On moving to Vietnam I worked with secondary students in the Learning Support Department at The British International School of Ho Chi Minh City. I missed the enthusiasm and energy of the younger children and left to teach art to the primary aged children at the International German School. I also spent a very enjoyable evening a week teaching English booster lessons to Vietnamese children from the neighbourhood that I lived in. I am still in touch with these guys and hope to visit again soon.
Texas was our next stop and I feel very lucky to be able to work here at BISH. The children here are so much fun, there is never a dull moment and they continue to surprise me daily.
I have always loved the excitement of travel and after finishing University with an art degree I moved to Leeds with my future husband with nothing more than a small suitcase intending to stay for 6 months. 35 years later and with the blessings of a grown up family the decision was made to resume our much delayed travel plans!
The opportunity to explore new countries and delve further into my interest in art, architecture, food and other cultures has been wonderful.
