Staff Profile: Susila Pugazhenthi

Susila Pugazhenthi

Early Years Assistant

After completing Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, I completed my degree in education and started working as a teacher in India. For four years, I worked as a full time science teacher in an elementary school in Madurai, India. I enjoyed working with children to achieve their potential and working together with parents. I later started a small private school in Chennai for three years before moving to Singapore. Since 2015, I have volunteered as a teacher to teach Tamil to young children in Bharathi Kalai Mandram, Houston.

Since 2015, I have volunteered as a teacher to teach Tamil to young children in Bharathi Kalai Mandram, Houston. I have also volunteered for the past six months in Early Years and in Primary in BISH. I especially loved interacting with young children and watching their progress everyday.

We have lived in five countries as an expat family and my three children have attended international schools. This has given me the unique perspective of being a parent and has allowed me to understand children from many different cultures. I learned Mandarin which helped us during the stay in China. I love cooking, enjoy my weekly yoga classes and watching TV shows during the weekends.
