After visiting Thailand several times, in 2014 I made the decision to move to Bangkok where I worked in two international schools, the latter being part of the Nord Anglia Education community of schools. I taught Nursery through KS1 and in those years I was able to really explore early childhood development as well child wellbeing and mental health, my passion in the field of education. I believe the best teachers are life-long learners and I am always looking for ways to grow my skill set and pedagogy. My most recent courses include studying Drama education with Juilliard, developing speech and communication through the use of Makaton and research into Play Based Therapy. I recently became a Global Campus Ambassador and I am looking forward to continuing my work within Nord Anglia, strengthening those connections with our schools around the world.
Joining the team at BIS Houston has been a dream of mine for a long time. When talking with teachers and the wider school community there are two things that are most evident. Their dedication to teaching and learning and their sense of community, which permeates though the neighbourhoods at BISH and beyond.
I am originally from London, where I completed my PGCE in 2014, specialising in Early Years and Key Stage One. Before this, I studied History of Art at Leeds University, graduating in 2009. My studies in this field were influenced by an early passion for art and architecture which continues to this day. In my spare time I love to wander around any new city, taking in the architecture and visiting the exhibitions on offer. I also love just being outside! A lot of my time is spent running and listening to podcasts and I am looking forward to being able to do more hikes and camping trips now I am in America.
