Head of Year 3, Class Teacher
I have been teaching at BIS Houston since moving to Houston from England with my husband 11 years ago and I’ve never looked back. The strong ethos of the school encourages me to learn more and to be ambitious as a teacher. During my time at this school, I have held various positions of responsibility including Leader of Learning for Key Stage 1 and Assessment and Data Manager for Primary. Influenced by my own background and upbringing, as well as my professional experience, I am passionate about nurturing an environment that promotes Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. This continues to be a focus for my own professional development.

Year 3 Class Teacher
My teaching career started in 2006 after gaining a degree in Childhood and Youth Studies followed by a PGCE in Primary Education. My first teaching positions were in Oldham, Greater Manchester. As an addition to my role, I led phonics and coached and mentored trainee teachers. From an early age, I knew that I wanted to teach and provide children with a memorable, high-quality learning experience. Since joining our school, I’ve had the privilege of teaching Year 2, 3 and 4 at the school, as well as leading Year 4 for two consecutive years. During my time here, I also co-authored an Innovation Curriculum and wrote a research paper, which I then proudly presented at the Hawaii Conference of Education.
Learning Support Assistant
Part time 2006-2009 HND (PDA) Teaching assistant, and pupil support assistant in Scotland. My family commitments allowed me to start working early 2020.
I have never worked in a school which has such fantastic facilities and has been designed to encourage a positive atmosphere. The architecture is beautiful.
