Anna Pittman

Head of Year 3, Class Teacher

I have been teaching at BIS Houston since moving to Houston from England with my husband 11 years ago and I’ve never looked back. The strong ethos of the school encourages me to learn more and to be ambitious as a teacher. During my time at this school, I have held various positions of responsibility including Leader of Learning for Key Stage 1 and Assessment and Data Manager for Primary. Influenced by my own background and upbringing, as well as my professional experience, I am passionate about nurturing an environment that promotes Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. This continues to be a focus for my own professional development.

My family are at the centre of everything I do, whether it’s a bike ride down by the bayou, learning to sew to make just the right Halloween costume or cooking together over FaceTime, with my brother, so that the distance between us doesn’t feel so huge. I love food and enjoy trying new recipes at home as much as I enjoy exploring the culinary experiences that Houston has to offer.
