I 've just completed  my seventh year of teaching and worked at the British College of Brazil in Sao Paulo for the past three years. I loved the many incredible opportunities I had to travel within South America. It was hard to leave such an incredible country, but I am very excited about my new adventure moving to Houston.

After graduating from the University of Strathclyde in 2007, I had my first year of teaching in a school in the outskirts of Glasgow. The following year I decided I wanted to see more of the world and I moved to Doha, Qatar. I spent 3 fantastic years at an international school there, where I met and learned from teachers who came from all over the world. Having endured the heat of the Middle East for 3 years I decided to move back to Europe and spent 5 years working at an IB school in Cologne, Germany. After making the difficult decision to leave Germany, it was an easy decision to join the British International School of Houston. After researching the school and speaking to the management team, it was obvious that this was the ideal school for me.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lone Star College. I decided to take a break from school to have more time to dedicate to my family. I have worked with students ranging from 3years - 14years of age. I knew working with kids was my passion when I began my first Preschool job! I have since then continued to work with students, whether it is educating them in English and Math or Life Skills. I work afternoons as a teacher in a Learning Center. I tutor students in Math and English, its an additional way for me to interact with students. There's no better feeling than knowing you've had an impact on a child's life!

    About you

I came to Houston 11 years ago from England with my family, we moved here for my husband’s job and my son has been at BISH since he was in Year 2.  We live in Katy and enjoy what Houston has to offer but also like to travel to other States. We love to ski, hike and take road trips!

This School is different to all others I have worked at because…

I love the BISH philosophy of allowing the child freedom to explore their interests, manage their time and learn in the way that works best for them. I am especially excited to be working in the early years program where the class size and neighbourhood allows this to happen and gives the children a wonderful foundation for learning.
