Head of Year 6 and Year 6 Teacher
Originally from the Wirral in the UK, I studied Popular Music at Bretton Hall, Leeds University and graduated in 2003. The summer I graduated, I had an amazing opportunity to work in Maine, in an American summer camp. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in teaching. Since then, I have worked as a peripatetic music teacher, teaching the keyboard to primary school children and I qualified as a teacher in 2005 through the GTP route.

My name is Leanne Kowis and I am originally from Essex in the UK. I have been working at the British International School of Houston for four years. In my time at the British School, I have been Head of House for Water, Leader of the Duke of Edinburgh Award for Secondary and I am currently the Leader of Learning for Primary Maths. I have loved my time in Houston and have found it a really welcoming city to live in.
Director of Outdoor Learning and Year 6 Class Teacher
I studied BA(Hons) Coaching & Physical Education at the University of St Mark & St John Plymouth in the United Kingdom. Through a physical education degree, I experienced a blend of research and applied practical theories to develop, coach and teach both students and athletes. This healthy combination inspired me to pursue a career in Primary Education.
