Originally from the Wirral in the UK, I studied Popular Music at Bretton Hall, Leeds University and graduated in 2003.  The summer I graduated, I had an amazing opportunity to work in Maine, in an American summer camp.  This experience inspired me to pursue a career in teaching.  Since then, I have worked as a peripatetic music teacher, teaching the keyboard to primary school children and I qualified as a teacher in 2005 through the GTP route.

My interest in education and working with children started at a young age. This developed over the years as I completed various work placements within schools and education based part-time jobs whilst completing secondary school.

I studied BA(Hons) Coaching & Physical Education at the University of St Mark & St John Plymouth in the United Kingdom. Through a physical education degree, I experienced a blend of research and applied practical theories to develop, coach and teach both students and athletes. This healthy combination inspired me to pursue a career in Primary Education.

    Year 6 Teacher

    Saty Sharma

I earned a bachelor’s in Applied Sciences and a master’s in Health Sciences, prior to specializing in the performance management of cancer services. My journey into the classroom took me by surprise! I volunteered at my children’s school in England and enjoyed this experience far more than I had expected. We unexpectedly moved to Houston in 2012 and I put my teacher training on hold. I initially worked as a Learning Support Assistant and then trained as a Primary teacher here at BISH. This is my fifth year teaching at BISH.
