Harriet Bodkin

Teacher of Mathematics

I will be joining the British International School of Houston in my fifth year of teaching Mathematics, having had experience in teaching GCSE, A-Level and the Applications and Interpretation course at DP after completing my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics with Business Studies in 2017. Before pursuing my passion for teaching, I worked as a Marketing Executive for a finance company in Australia and an industrial lifting company in the UK. However, my early experiences of teaching ESL in South Korea after graduating from University in 2007 motivated me to move into the education field, and as such, has led me to where I am today, teaching internationally and due to complete my Masters in Education within a couple of months.

In my spare time, there is nothing more that I enjoy than being outdoors – whether that be running, hiking or abseiling down waterfalls (whenever the opportunity presents itself!). Having lived in 7 countries, I also love to travel, explore new places and to try out new foods. With this most recent move to Texas, I am particularly looking forward to spending my weekends discovering different state parks and eating an abundance of guacamole.
