I have worked in education for over 30 years both in the United Kingdom and Internationally. I studied Fine Art at the Institute of Art and Design in Birmingham and completed my PGCE at the University of Leeds. In my previous post as Head of Design in Ho Chi Minh City I coached the first team to represent Vietnam at the ‘F1 in Schools World Finals’, where the team won the ‘Best Newcomers Award’.
When employed in the United Kingdom I worked closely with Education Leeds to develop innovative learning resources and practices which were shared across the authority. The opportunity to work at the British International School in Houston will allow me to further develop my pedagogy and work with like-minded colleagues to inspire our students to achieve outstanding outcomes and results.
I am married with a grown-up family. My daughter recently married and is a teacher of English. My son is in his final year of training to become an Architect. My wife Sue has worked in primary schools teaching Art and supporting EAL both in the United Kingdom and Internationally. We both enjoy travel and the art, design and music of different countries and cultures.
This School is different to all others I have worked at because…
The British International School Houston is one of the most pedagogically advanced schools in the world. Both the learning environment and the approach to learning and teaching support innovation and creativity. It is a great pleasure to be a part of this learning community and to share my learning experiences with both the students and teachers.
