Jon Molson

Jon Molson at the British International School of Houston

Middle and High School Teacher of Computer Science

I graduated with a degree in Computer Science and since then, besides a year spent working in industry at Intel,  I have been teaching in the UK and overseas. I joined the VSO Programme in Eritrea where I met my wife, Mrs. Gwilt, who works here at BIS Houston in the English Department. In Eritrea, I worked at the Ministry of Education as a teacher trainer which was a fascinating experience. Since then, I have lived and worked in the South-West of England, Costa Rica, Dubai and Malaysia before coming to Houston where I am now part of the Design Thinking Faculty. I really enjoy the challenges and opportunities that being an International Teacher bring and working within such a creative and dynamic team.

While studying Computer Science at University in the UK, I volunteered to become a mentor on a Youth Learning Scheme. This was a very fulfilling experience as it enabled me to share my passion for Computer Programming, Electronics and Robotics, and it helped me realise that this was something I wanted to pursue as a career. I now help co-ordinate the school's E-Sports Programme, and I am Coach of our Rocket League Team. I also really enjoy cooking and baking and like to learn how to cook dishes from the different parts of the world where my wife and I live and travel to.
