I graduated from Edinburgh University in 2014 with a B Ed in Physical Education. From university I moved straight into teaching and taught in Scotland for three years. I returned to my old school, Wick High School, where I worked as a PE teacher alongside several members of staff who also taught me as a student.
I moved to Malaysia in 2017 and really enjoyed my first two years teaching in an international school. It was an amazing experience which allowed me to visit and discover lots of new countries and cultures within South East Asia.
I have always been intrigued and excited about working in America and jumped at the opportunity to work at BIS Houston. This is now my third year at the school and unfortunately all three have been impacted by Covid-19. Hopefully everything can return to normal soon and we can make full use of the amazing facilities and staff we have here at the school!
I am originally from a small village in the Scottish Highlands and was lucky enough to grow up surrounded by lots of fresh air, open space and animals on my dad’s farm. From a young age I have always held a keen interest in sport and physical activity. Thankfully, Houston provides me with plenty of opportunities to play both Football and Golf which are my main sports. In my spare time I like to keep myself physically active by going to the gym as well as travelling to new places. There are many countries and global sporting events, such as the Olympic Games and World Cup, that are on my to-do list and hopefully I am able to travel and tick these off in the near future!
