Originally from a small village in the Scottish Highlands, I moved to Edinburgh and graduated from Edinburgh University in 2014 with a B Ed in Physical Education. From university I moved straight into teaching and taught in Scotland for three years. I returned to my old school, Wick High School, where I worked as a PE teacher alongside several members of staff who used to be my own teachers when I was at school.
I moved to Malaysia in 2017 and really enjoyed my first two years teaching in an international school. It was an amazing experience which allowed me to visit and discover lots of new countries and cultures within Asia. My favourite memories from teaching in Malaysia were leading our school sport tours to Thailand where we competed against other British international schools from across Asia. I couldn’t wait to come to America and see for myself just how important sport is to everyone and how passionate the supporters are. I look forward making a telling contribution to the PE Department, school teams and all the students I work with!
I am a keen Footballer and Golfer and I hope there are plenty of opportunities for me to continue playing these sports in Houston. Football (Soccer) is my area of expertise, and I have coached and managed a number of teams both in and outside of school. My proudest sporting achievement to date was being the Player/Manager for my local senior team and winning the league on the final day of our season! In my spare time I like to keep myself physically fit and active by running, swimming or going to the gym.
