Natalie Marnoch

Teacher of Physical Education, International Award Leader and Year 13 Form Tutor

I graduated from Exeter University with a Bachelor of science (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science in 2014. I then completed my PGCE also in Exeter and have been teaching for the last year at a large comprehensive school in Walsall. I have completed many coaching courses including, basketball, swimming and tennis and I am looking to add more to this list in the near future. I was myself an IB Graduate from the British International School of Houston and so the opportunity to return, as a teacher, at such an exciting time for the school was an opportunity that I could not turn down.

I am a sports enthusiast and I enjoy watching and participating most sports. I played Netball at University and Soccer whilst living in Houston but I also enjoy playing tennis, basketball and running recreationally. Having, previously, lived in Houston for many years I am a huge Houston Rockets fan and I can't wait to return to the Toyota center again! I am also a big fan of Hearts of Midlothian in Edinburgh and regularly visit the capital to support them.

I am extremely passionate about the importance of Physical Education in young people's Education. Sports can help to develop many skills including self-esteem, tolerance, determination and cooperation all of which are valuable skills to have long after leaving school. The opportunities that students are given through sports are both valuable and extremely rewarding for our students.

I am also an avid traveller and have visited countries across 4 continents; North America, Asia, Europe and Africa. South America is next on my bucket list!

What the students say about me

"Miss Marnoch is a funny and kind teacher who makes PE fun!"

"Miss Marnoch makes PE enjoyable. I have learnt a lot about how the body works and why exercising is good for me."

"She always motivates us to do the very best we that we can and she makes sure that we don’t give up."

This school is different to all others I've taught at because...

Being a proud alumna of this school, I know how extremely diverse it is with a wide range of religions and nationalities. This is rare in schools and allows students to appreciate different cultures, something extremely important in today's cultural climate. Furthermore, at such an exciting time for the school the new facilities are absolutely incredible giving students every chance to succeed at the highest level.
