Having gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Recreation, Physical Education and English Literature at Liverpool Hope University I then completed a PGCE in Physical Education at Liverpool John Moores University. Before starting at BIS Houston in 2017, I was second in department at a state school on Merseyside. After two years teaching in Houston, I took on the role of Head of Physical Education. I remain a passionate teacher, curriculum developer and leader focused on promoting a love of learning and progress through Physical Education. In addition, I am a qualified coach in a wide range of sports including; football, futsal, basketball, handball and trampolining.
Despite my legs not quite having the speed of old, I continue to stay active playing and coaching football and maintain a keen interest in boxing amongst many other sports. Over the years I have explored a wide variety of sports and outdoor pursuits including American Football, climbing, kayaking and boxing and I believe that such variety enhances an individuals ability to transfer skills and knowledge across a range of situations. Aside from watching and playing sport I enjoy listening to music. In particular, live events. I also enjoy art, visiting galleries or exhibits and even occasionally picking up a pencil myself to doodle! I am here with my wife, Leanne and my two sons, Jude and Otis. We are all part of the BIS Houston school community.
