Staff Profile: Todd Wain

Todd Wain

Leader of Learning for Physical Education

I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2008 with an honours degree in Sport Development before also completing my PGCE also at Liverpool John Moores University in 2010. Prior to teaching, I worked in the field of sports management for a number of sporting organisations, most notably for the Tongan National Rugby League. Prior to working at BISH I worked at a community secondary school in North Yorkshire as a Teacher of PE & as Assistant Director of Learning.

I am a big believer in Physical Education providing students with opportunities to develop their skills and understandings that allow them to continue to participate in sport, physical activity and exercise. This is particularly true in International Education whereby we can never predict where our students will live at various stages in their lives. With each country having its own sporting culture, providing students with the conceptual understandings that underpin all sports and physical activities, I believe will help them in this endeavor.

I moved to Houston with my wife Grace two years ago. Away from teaching I have a passion for travel and enjoy participating in a number of sports, including Cricket and Rugby League. I am dedicated to continually improving as a professional, in particular developing strategies that aid in improving my teaching and learning practice.
