Year 3 Teacher

BA Joint Hons Spanish & Sociology (University of Leeds); PGCE in Primary Education (UCL).

Amy studied Spanish and Sociology at Leeds University and following her degree, gained a place on the Teach First Leadership programme, through which she achieved her PGCE in Primary Education.

In the three years that followed, she taught in an underprivileged outer London school, having responsibilities as Class 2 teacher, Spanish teacher for all year groups and Key Stage 1 Phase Leader. Across the six NET Academy schools, she was also Head of Oracy and Philosophy for Children (P4C), creating a bespoke curriculum to develop pupils’ critical thinking, speaking and listening skills.

As well as teaching in the UK, Amy has worked in Spain and Cambodia, satisfying her love for travelling, teaching and charity work. She joined BSKL as Class Teacher for Year 3 and is accompanied by her partner Orren, who will be teaching Secondary Science.

When not teaching, Amy loves ticking experiences off her bucket list, sampling new food and volunteering for charities close to her heart.
