On Friday morning the secondary school was joined by our students from Year 5 and 6, as we gathered together for our Remembrance Day assembly. The assembly was prepared and led by our sixth form pupils. They structured a beautiful service and their words, images and music combined powerfully to remind us that the suffering of war affects global communities in terrible ways. However, the assembly also struck an optimistic note as we celebrated the diversity of the BIS Hanoi community. The students present reminded us that we are united in our care for the world and its peaceful development.
The Value of Sport
Mrs Airdrie and her team of dedicated PE teachers are working incredibly hard to give our children opportunities to play sport. Last weekend, they hosted the highly successful Global Games. The values on display including sportsmanship, teamwork and courage clearly show that these opportunities develop the person as well as the athlete.
BIS Hanoi students will be competing in the pool this weekend. If you would like to support this event, it begins at UNIS on Saturday morning at 8am.
The Varsity Basketball Team
The varsity boys played their first game of the season against Wellspring. It was a tough fixture for our very young team. The boys played with great courage but were overwhelmed in the second half by an older and stronger team. The boys now have to train hard, overcome their disappointment and look forward to their next fixture on Saturday 12 November.
