The NAE Global Library Project provides lists of specially selected books for each age group. Students are encouraged to read the books, then share their reviews with other students in NAE schools around the globe.
In the Junior Campus library this week, all classes in Year 2 to Year 6 were introduced to the Global Library Project. The students were shown the webpage and guided through it. They were excited about joining the Global Library, reading the recommended books and making reviews, either written, by filming or in art form, for other students in NAE schools around the globe to read and view. We looked at reviews already posted by students in other schools and took a close look at the books we have available to begin our experience within the Global Library.
The students will have an online passport and each time they make a book review they will earn a stamp in that passport. We feel sure that this project will encourage students to widen the range of books that they are currently reading, since the selected books cover fiction, non-fiction, classics, graphic novels and poetry genre.
The aim of the Global Library is to promote the love of books, the enjoyment of reading and the interaction and sharing of books read, with other students within the NAE group.
