Developing international mindedness

This week has been the start of our focus on international mindedness which will link well with our upcoming International Week.

  • International Mindedness_animals

We are discussing with the students about what international mindedness means to them and how we can demonstrate this. We look forward to being able to award our medal winners for demonstrating international mindedness later this month.

At the tea party this week, it was a fantastic opportunity to talk to the students about what they are learning in class and listen to how engaged they are in their own learning.  They are keen to progress further and it is great to see teachers encouraging and developing this in class.

Year 6 students arrive back this evening from Green Camp and we look forward to hearing about their experiences this week.  It is a great opportunity for the teachers to work with the students in a different environment at the beginning of the year and develops some great team building between the students.

Canteen snacks

The Canteen is going Healthy!

A huge thank you to all who have voiced and shown support in our decision to remove snacks from the canteen during primary lunch times.

We place high priority in the role that a healthy and substantial lunchtime plays in developing students who have increased focus and concentration. We are taking steps to improve the lunch time experience for our students by collaborating with them, with parents and with staff  to get a general consensus on how they would like the primary lunch time to look. Our aim is to encourage and develop life long healthy eating habits within our students and we are excited to teach children that food and meal times are an exciting  and important part of our everyday lives; an opportunity to fuel our bodies which allows us to be the best that we can be.
