On Monday you will receive a letter from me concerning the parent satisfaction survey which will be launched next week. The letter details how the results of previous surveys have impacted our decision making and planning and I hope you will recognise that much of the action seen over the last few years can be tied to issues raised in previous surveys. I apologise now that the letter is three pages long but I do believe we need to provide you with a clear understanding of the importance of these surveys and the impact they can have on the direction we take the school.
One area where we know we need to improve significantly is in how we communicate with you. The focus of recent discussions with the Strategic Advisory Board (SAB) has been this very topic. Next week members of the board are meeting with senior leaders at school to spend the morning exploring the key issues surrounding our communication further. It is likely that we will also ask for feedback from the entire parent body early next term with regard to communication. This will mean that we will be asking you to complete a second questionnaire almost immediately after you have just completed this first survey. I trust that you understand the need for us to have a questionnaire focused on communication specifically given that this is such a key issue to ‘get right’.
I look forward to seeing as many parents as possible at our Christmas Fair next Friday afternoon and at all of the end of term concerts and performances we have somehow managed to squeeze in to the last 8 days of term!
