Every January Nord Anglia hosts a four day teacher recruitment event in London where we typically see between 30-50 applications for each position advertised. I am delighted to report that of the very small number of positions we have advertised and are looking to fill for next year I have interviewed some outstanding candidates and we have this week secured all but one of the positions we had vacant for September.
At present it is looking likely that staff ‘turnover’ this summer will be less than 10% which I am sure will be very encouraging for you all. As I have written previously we have worked incredibly hard over the last few years to drive a significant improvement in the quality of teaching and learning across the school and we are very proud of the standards we now demonstrate in the classroom on a daily basis and are eager to continually develop this further.
This drive to improve the quality and breadth of teaching across the school was in direct response to previous Parent Satisfaction Survey responses where many parents commented on too much variation in the standards of teaching across classes. We still have a few days left for you to feedback to us on where you would like to see the school focus it’s efforts: The parent satisfaction survey is the definitive opportunity for a significant ‘parent voice’ to shape the strategy of the school over the next few years. Every summer holiday we spend in the region of eight to ten million zloty on small capital expenditure projects such as upgrading IT facilities, redevelopment of playground and sports facilities and refurbishing classrooms. As principals we are challenged at group budget meetings to justify how we allocate these spends and without a doubt the easiest justification is “because the Parent Satisfaction Survey asked for it”. If you have not yet completed the survey then please could I ask one last time for 15 minutes of your weekend? The more responses we receive the more aligned we can be in our actions and strategy.
