Kicking us off, we enjoyed a wonderful celebration for the Lunar New Year, organised by the Chinese parent community. The children were treated to a traditional lion dance and acrobat show and got to take part in some traditional Chinese activities. There was also an abundance of freshly prepared, Chinese cuisine which was absolutely scrumptious.
On Thursday, we opened our doors to existing and prospective families; we largely let our student leadership team do all the talking and they were AMAZING! To say that we were proud of their confidence, politeness and all around brilliance, would be an understatement. A testament to both, you as parents, and our teachers.
Friday has been an adventure from start to finish; Year 5 students amazed with their STEAM showcase, focusing on evolution. Each class followed a different line of inquiry within the topic and we ended up with dinosaur footprints and skeletons of (as of yet) unknown, evolved animals! In year 4, it was 'A Night at the Museum' for the 'Temples, Tombs and Treasures' exit point. Parents were treated to trip to the museum where they got transported back through the golden sands of time to discover long forgotten treasures.
We finished the term with a trip to the circus with Bluebell class and a dramatic representation of Charles Darwin's life and some of his most important discoveries, including adaptation and evolution from Mercury class. Thank you to the children and, of course, their teachers for the hard work and preparation.
Wishing you all a relaxing half term break and safe travels for those leaving Warsaw.
