Message from our Principal

This week we held an open day at Limanowskiego.

“I was so impressed with the confidence of the students who led the tours, I certainly did not have that confidence when I was their age!”

This was designed to allow both prospective parents but also our current parents the opportunity to see lessons in action during the school day. We carefully selected a range of lessons to ensure that parents had the opportunity to see and gain a better understanding of all areas of our curriculum offer across the Primary and Secondary age range.

For the first time we asked children to lead these ‘tours’ and I must say how impressed we were with their enthusiasm and professionalism. We provided them with some coaching in advance and asked them to prepare some thoughts and also consider answers to questions parents typically ask. Many parents both present and prospective took the time to feedback to us about how impressive our students were on their tours. They spoke with passion, authority and composure whilst being genuine and honest in their answers.

Giving our students in both Primary and Secondary opportunities such as this and placing them in new and challenging situations are some of the very best examples of experiential learning and soft skill development which cannot often be coached in a ‘normal’ classroom environment.

Whilst heaping praise on the children I should also remember to recognise the work of the Admissions and Marketing departments and all our teaching and support staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare the school for the day. We will certainly be repeating this on a more regular basis and hope that many more current parents will find time to visit during one of these open mornings or afternoons in the future.

“I was really impressed with the very interesting displays outside the classrooms, the sports trophies, and of course with the students; their engagement, knowledge, politeness and openness”
