Message from our Head of Primary

It was fantastic to see a great number of parents last Friday for the session with Chris Whitney.

This was followed with sessions with our Learning Assistants and Teachers.  Our focus was how to improve the quality of the children's reading and writing.

One of the main messages was that the children that read everyday become our great readers and most proficient writers.  They gain ideas about characters, setting,  plots and vocabulary from what they have read and use this in their own writing.

We are talking to the children about reading everyday at home and discussing the books they have read.  Please record any books that they have read or that you have read with them in their reading record.

We can't wait to see the progress our future authors make throughout the year.
