Message from our Head of Secondary

There is no stranger place than a school without children in it; they are the life and soul of our community and corridors and we miss them when they are not here.

  • British school standard

That being said, there has been an air of intense excitement amongst teachers over the last two days as we plunged further into the world of online learning. With our home learning plan already devised and communicated some weeks ago, all we had to do was implement our Microsoft Teams strategy, set up our classes and begin to design our lessons.  It has been an astonishing leap forward and one which we have all really enjoyed getting stuck into. Our teachers are truly creative and we together we have shared ideas, strategies and some fun initiatives to ensure we are ready to deliver the very best learning possible online for our students during this school closure period.

All we ask of you as parents is to be sure to have read the Home Learning plans sent through by Mr Yorath earlier this week and be ready to support your child in their online learning journey; by doing this, you are also supporting us as  teachers, a vital collaboration to every child’s learning.

Here's to a whole new world of learning next week, do feedback to teachers; this is a team effort which is already bringing out the best in us all.

Have a good weekend.

Alison Fox
