Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, I developed a love for learning languages after being introduced to French in middle school. Throughout high school, I studied Spanish as well, having thoroughly caught the polyglot bug. In search of a new challenge, I began studying Chinese and Japanese during my first two years at the College of William and Mary, where I graduated with a double major in Mandarin and Environmental Policy.
Since 2006, I have studied, worked, and taught in Beijing, Tianjin, and Taipei. I hope to return to China in the future.
I joined the Admissions Team at British International School of Washington in December 2011, and have enjoyed my time working among such a diverse and talented international community of students, parents, and staff.
A few fun facts: I have studied millinery and Indonesian Gamelan; My favorite season is fall (bonfires!); My spirit animal is the mighty otter; I once sat next to Posh Spice on a plane.
