I am delighted that you're considering the British International School of Washington. We know you want the best for your child, and so do we. I'd like to share some of the reasons we're the best-fit school for so many families.
You probably already know that we're one of Washington D.C.'s premier private, international schools and that we offer a British inspired academic heritage to students from more than 65 nationalities in our urban, vertical campus right in Georgetown. Yet that's only part of our story.
Like many schools we teach a globally respected curricula, deliver excellent academic outcomes, hire world-leading teachers, and provide outstanding facilities. That's what schools are supposed to do, after all, and BISW is no exception.
At our school we go beyond those benefits to build a school experience unlike any other in Washington. We think beyond traditional education, and it transforms our students' learning. Indivudalized support, collaborations with the world's best - Juilliard, MIT, UNICEF, and a true focus on international-mindedness enhance our curricula.
We build engaging learning evironments so that your child will love coming to school. Our classroom extends beyond our walls with programs like Walk in the Woods in lower primary, day trips to Washington area attractions and musuems throughout our year groups, and overnight trips beginning in first grade (Year 2). In fact, our high school juniors (Year 12) spend two weeks in Tanzania each February learning, volunteering, and exchanging ideas with their peers from other Nord Anglia schools.
I know choosing a school is a difficult, personal decision. It needs to be right not just for your child, but for you too. You'll find our school community to be warm and welcoming.
Still, the best way to understand BISW isn't by reading my letter, it is by visiting school for yourself. I'd like to personally invite you to do just that.
I look forward to meeting you and our team is ready to help you every step of the process.
