Alex Munro 2021

Humanities Teacher

Humanities Teacher Alex Munro teaches secondary school courses in Geography, Global Perspectives, and Health and Wellbeing.

I am excited to join the vibrant multicultural community at the British International School of Washington. I am originally from the DMV, but my practice as an educator began in "the Windy City" of Chicago and continued most recently in Bangkok, Thailand. I am looking forward to teaching Secondary Humanities—Geography and Global Perspectives—in addition to a course on Social-Emotional Wellbeing. From year to year, I hope to see students grow intellectually and holistically. My philosophy as an educator and lifelong learner is rooted in the concept of value-creation. This concept asks how we, as learners and educators, can create value in our school that will, in turn, have a positive impact on our local communities and beyond. I look forward to being a part of this rewarding experience, and I wish everyone a healthy, safe, and enjoyable 2021-22 academic school year.
