As an English teacher, I believe our school is a great place to teach. Washington, DC, affords people many opportunities to connect with texts and writers. In addition, many of our alumni and parents—and even some of our students—are published writers.
The 2021–22 academic year marks my twentieth anniversary of teaching and my eighth year of teaching internationally. As a leader for student outcomes and care, support and guidance, I aim to help students find joy in learning and new experiences.
I have worked in schools in the UK and the UAE, and I have family in the UK and Paris, France. So, as you might imagine, I enjoy exploring new places.
I want to bring my experiences and the experiences of our diverse student body into the classroom and the IB to have exciting learning opportunities made deeper through sensitive and creative teaching.
My hobbies include singing, playing the ukulele, perfoming in musical theatre and and travelling. I have completed several triathlons for charity, trekked through the Vietnamese jungle, performed for royalty and even sung on the soundtrack for a movie—as part of a chorus!
