Donna Broad

Donna Broad 2021

Learning Assistant

Donna Broad assists and supports both the teacher and students in the classroom and performs supervisory duties during recess, lunchtime and after-school programmes.

My name is Donna Broad, and I am pleased to be with the BISW team as a Learning Assistant for Year 1. My family and I are from the UK, and we have lived in Washington, DC, for more than two years. I have also lived and worked in Sydney, Australia. My career to date has been in Public Health with a specific focus on Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity. Before arriving in the USA, I completed a Masters in this field at the University of Bristol. My previous jobs have enabled me to develop my training and teaching skills both with children and adults. I was also a Rainbows leader for three-and-a-half years, and I co-ordinated and delivered Girl Guiding-based activities to children ages 5 to 7. My hobbies include running, hiking, cooking and baking, and travelling.
