After volunteering with sport coaching in my teenage years, I became very fond of working with children. I graduated from Primary Education at University of Bangor, Wales in 2011 and immediately started as a Primary teacher in Greenfield, North Wales.
I married my wife, Abigail, in 2014 and our rooftop wedding ceremony overlooked the Capitol Building. We briefly moved to Chester, England before locating back to Washington D.C. to pursue our careers and to be closer to my wife’s family. We recently welcomed our daughter, Delyth Joy, into our family in July 2019!
I have played in competitive football teams from an early age and still enjoy playing in order to keep fit. In between terms at university, I coached football throughout the USA’s east coast and all over Canada. In my last teaching post, I led the soccer team to win their first county championship. I also helped coach the County Schoolboys’ Football team in a very successful year.
My wife and I enjoy eating out, spending time as a family, and going on holiday (to warm places).
The children at BISW are passionate towards learning and have high standards for their own work and personal development. I admire the highly respectful attitudes between pupils from a wide variety of backgrounds. Increasingly important these days, communicating successfully with people from a range of cultures is essential for later life.
